⁠RAD collaborated with the University of California, Los Angeles, to design and manufacture custom cafe furniture for the Kerckhoff Hall patio area. Home to a cafe, study areas, and multiple student organizations, Kerckhoff Hall recently underwent remodeling efforts to revitalize the community space to best serve student needs. 

Custom Lounge Chairs and Coffee Tables:

Using the Bent Lounge Chair as the base design, RAD created custom lounge chairs with Kebony backs and Slatted Steel seats to accommodate the high traffic of the Kerckhoff Hall patio.

RAD modified the 101 Dining Table design, bringing it down to coffee table height to complement the Bent Lounge Chairs. Custom bolt-down legs ensure the tables stay secured to the ground, while the weatherproof Kebony surface and powder-coated steel construction make the tables both durable and easy to clean.

Custom Cafe Chairs:

Building off the Signature Cafe Chair, RAD modified the design with a Kebony back to match the custom Bent Lounge Chair design. 

Custom Cafe Tables:

RAD's Solid Dining Table pairs perfectly with the custom Signature Dining Chairs. Half of the tables were outfitted with custom umbrella holes so that patrons can take shelter in the shade on sunny days.

Custom Powder Coating Color:

Named for the businessman whose $715k contribution funded the development of UCLA's first student union building in 1931, Kerckhoff Hall's gothic architecture is an iconic feature of UCLA's campus. RAD worked with Associated Students UCLA and graduate students from UCLA Architecture & Urban Design to find the perfect custom shade of off-white powder coating to complement the building's limestone arches, restored after the historic Northridge Earthquake in 1994.
