In order to create a cafe and hi-fi lounge on the campus of a Los Angeles-based tech company, our client engaged RAD Studio to reimagine and reconfigure this iconic 1950 Spartan trailer.
The trailer's interior was stripped to the studs to make way for a multi-functional space. On one end, a hi-fi lounge bridges the trailer's retro beginnings and modern finishes with white oak wall paneling and a refurbished original FrigidAire refrigerator, used for drinks in the lounge. Built-in cabinetry houses a record player, audio equipment, and a vinyl record collection.
On the other end, a large 3-panel glass door showcases the cafe's espresso machine, and includes an integrated door with an operable window, where customers pick up orders of coffee and soft-serve ice cream.
