Powder Coating FAQs

Powder Coating FAQs

At RAD, we only use the highest-quality materials. All of our furniture is powder coated. Read on to learn more about the powder coating process, the benefits of powder coating, and the durability of powder coating.

What is power coating?

Powder coating is a type of coating that is applied as a free-flowing, dry powder. Unlike conventional liquid paint, powder coating is applied electrostatically and is then cured under heat to allow it to flow and form a ‘skin.’

What are the benefits of powder coating furniture?

Powder coating creates a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint. The process is mainly used for the coating of metals, such as household appliances, aluminum extrusions, and automobile and bicycle parts. We only use powder coating as a finish for our metal furniture.

Powder coating is durable and can withstand heavy use as well as the elements, making it a great choice for indoor-outdoor furniture.

What powder coating options do you offer?

We offer a selection of powder coating colors and finishes. Our core colors and textures are a palette of muted primary colors and tones inspired by nature. We can also provide custom powder coating colors and finishes—contact us for more information.

How do you clean and maintain powder-coated furniture?

We recommend using a soft cloth with mild soap and water to clean our powder-coated furniture.

Can powder-coated furniture get wet?

Powder coating is waterproof, making our furniture suitable for indoors and outdoors.
